It's difficult enough to grapple with health insurance issues on an average day, but COVID-19 has added a whole new difficulty level to such tasks, for reasons both medical and financial. What happens to employer-based health insurance if you're not working as many hours, or not working at all? Is there a difference between a "furlough" and a "layoff?" Susia Latta and Joy Miller are family and consumer sciences agents for K-State Research and Extension--from Marshall County and the Southwind District, respectively. They are also trained volunteers for Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK). They'll answer some of the more common health insurance questions that people have right now.
